2026 AFL Tipping Rules
Everything you need to know before tipping
Competition Rules
-
1
$30 per person paid upfront to enter the competition.
-
2
Tips must be submitted by 5pm on the day of the first game each round. Late tips for individual games accepted until kickoff.
-
3
No tips = no score. There are no defaults — if you don't tip, you get nothing for that round.
-
4
Pick the team you think will win each game. On the app, just tap the team name to select them.
-
5
Enter a winning margin (in points) for the 1st match of the round. This is used as a tiebreaker if multiple tippers pick the same number of games correctly. E.g., if you think the Crows will win by 6 goals, enter 36.
-
6
Scoring is based on published match odds. If the odds are $4.50 and you tip correctly, you earn 4.5 points. Picking underdogs gives you more points when correct. Odds are sourced from publicly available market data and displayed alongside each game.
-
7
Draws: you receive half the odds points. Draws are counted as incorrect for weekly winner purposes.
-
8
Odds are locked on Tuesday morning each round. You can still change your tips after odds are locked, but the points will be based on the locked odds. Odds movements throughout the week are shown on the tipping page to help inform your picks.
-
9
Bonus Points (count towards annual prize only):
- +2 All tips correct in a round (rounds with 6+ games only)
- +4 Correct winning margin on 1st game (must also pick the winner)
- +6 All tips incorrect in a round (rounds with 6+ games only)
- * Bonuses can combine
-
10
Weekly prize amount is determined by entrant numbers.
-
11
Weekly Winner: Most correct tips → highest Odds Score → closest margin prediction → prize split.
-
12
If tied with the same margin prediction, the prize is split.
-
13
Bonus points ONLY count for the annual prize, NOT the weekly prize.
